Rydvall Mjelva Carr

Rydvall Mjelva Carr brings together three leading voices in Nordic music: Erik Rydvall on nyckelharpa, Olav Luksengård Mjelva on Hardanger fiddle and Ale Carr on cittern. After years of crossing paths on the road and inspiring one another’s work, the trio has formed a new collaboration rooted in the musical traditions of Sweden and Norway.

Their sound combines the resonance of Nordic folk music with the detail and intimacy of chamber and Baroque traditions. With a shared focus on craftsmanship, improvisation and melodic depth, they explore traditional material and original compositions with both precision and imagination.

Rydvall and Mjelva have performed on major film and game soundtracks including The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, Loki and God of War Ragnarök, while Carr is widely known for his work with Dreamers’ Circus and collaborations across the Nordic and international music scenes.

Together, the trio creates a contemporary expression of Nordic tradition: three distinct musical voices brought together in a rich, dynamic and unmistakable sound.
